Financial Literacy

Programming Available for All Ages

Monroe Bank & Trust recognizes the need to reach members of our community with a formalized, systematic, far-reaching approach to the financial literacy challenge. MBT offers a comprehensive suite of literacy programs designed to meet the needs of our community from early education through adulthood.

  • Partnership in Education - The in-school student banking program which focuses on savings and money exercises for children in kindergarten thru the eighth grade.
  • EverFi - An interactive, web-based curriculum for high school students where they learn financial principles while completing modules on ten specific topics. A gaming component is included to feature real world scenarios and goal setting.
  • MBTeach – Our adult program where teachers instruct 60 minute classes on five subject matters including household budgeting, credit reports, checking accounts, first time home buying and fraud.
  • GreenPath Financial Wellness – A partnership between MBT & GreenPath where individualized financial counseling, education and debt management is promoted.
  • Monroe County Learning Bank Network – The corporate/community collaboration featuring GED certification and financial education provided in a former MBT branch.

This interactive, age-appropriate app has games to teach children simple concepts related to money and saving. New games are added quarterly to stay fresh and engaging. Parental controls are provided and the app does not link directly to any MBT accounts.
